Preview: Sham Bodie 7, Manchester

Having just returned from a sojourn to the capital where they invited Eggsy from Goldie Lookin’ Chain to the Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club, Sham Bodie are returning to their spiritual home in Manchester (that’s the music hall of The Castle Hotel to me and you).

If you’ve not been to the previous six Sham Bodie shows, it’s like a bunch of other nights all rolled into one inside a carpet, and then whizzed in the canal. Comedy, music, food, chat and other stuff, all amiably guided by Mr Ben Tonge.

Joining Tonge next time is comedian and clown Cheekykita, the wonderfully absurd Ben Kewin, ‘famed bodybuilder’ Jane Edwards and band on the up Bad Grammar, whose track ‘Temper Temper’ is music to our ears.

If that’s not enough to whet your appetite, you also get to win stuff from Aldi for kicking a football at Wayne Rooney’s face in a game hilariously dubbed ‘Wayne & Gain’. Tremendous.
