Hold the phone! Alt-comedy icon Kyle Kinane is hiking his latest show – Ghost Pizza Party – all the way from wintry LA to the sunny climes of Manchester.

Thanks to the fabulous Perfect Strangers Comedy, Kinane is coming to the North of England for the first time following a sell-out Edinburgh run at Underbelly this year.

Kinane’s hour special, I Liked His Old Stuff Better premiered on Comedy Central earlier this year. He has featured on the likes of Comedy Bang Bang, Conan and @Midnight; and is proving to be a relentless rising star in the US comedy network.

Coming straight off the back of a run at Soho Theatre in London and his Edinburgh debut (as well as a 2014 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Barry Award nomination)Ghost Pizza Party does exactly what it says on the tin. Perhaps…

“This show is about ghosts having a pizza party. Or maybe it isn’t. Maybe, at one point, one of Kyle’s stories does in fact centre around the idea of the undead enjoying a slice.”

But whatever this is all really about, guaranteed the story-teller will manage to wrangle a glorious middle ground between the everyman and the absurb no-man’s land of his understated absurdity.

Kinane is gracing the Pub/Zoo’s inexplicably garage-esque comedy space (home also to weekly club XS Malarkey) on Sunday 15th. You can get tickets here, and get updates on gigs by following Perfect Strangers on Twitter and liking them on Facebook.

Who knows, Ghost Pizza Party could be the start of a very specific, very Special Relationship between Manchester and the US. It would be wholly remiss to miss this.

Kyle Kinane: Ghost Pizza Party, Sunday 15 November, 8pm, The Pub/Zoo, Manchester.
