Have a Hootfest! at The Stand

Christmas! It’s almost here! And in a few days time, it’ll all be over.

Recycling bins overflowing with crumpled wrapping paper, turkey sandwiches for lunch again, the novelty of spending time with your family has long-since died away… But worry not; salvation is at hand!

The Stand Comedy Club in Newcastle will be seeing out the year in the only way they know how; with a cracking bunch of comedy shows. Between 27 and 31 December 2014, The Stand will be bringing together a top line-up of comics for Hootfest!

Cult Geordie comic Gavin Webster, Mike Milligan, Katherine Tanney, JoJo Sutherland, and BBC New Comedy Award winner Lost Voice Guy will all appear across five nights to close out 2014.

Newcastle’s Lost Voice Guy, real name Lee Ridley, nabbed the top prize at this year’s BBC New Comedy Awards earlier this week following a public vote, taking home a £1000 cash prize, and a development deal to produce his own radio pilot.

Ridley joins Alan Carr, Peter Kay, Sarah Millican and Marcus Brigstocke in the list of previous finalists.

And if great line-ups and award-winning comedians aren’t enough to tempt you, The Stand’s licensed bar will be open until 1am after the show on 31 December, giving you an ideal place to see in the New Year.

Plus, hot food will be available at all shows for those fancying a change from mince pies and pigs in blankets.
