Your Aunt Fanny, the all-girl sketch group, return home tonight as part of NewcastleGateshead’s Juice Festival for children and young adults.

The group, formed by six of the most talented members of Live’s Youth Theatre, launched at Live Theatre’s Party Poppers Festival in August to nurture the comedy careers of the next generation of female comedians.

For this weekend’s performances, founding members Matilda Neill, Emma Crowley-Bennet and Brogan Gilbert will be joined by Youth Theatre regulars Chloe Gosling, Harriet Hunter Purvis and Isabel Sorby.

Your Aunt Fanny have worked with local writers Laura Lindow (Sawdust & Stardust) and Lee Mattinson (Chalet Lines, Donna Disco and Jonathan Likes This) to create a collection of original sketches written.

Rachel Glover, the group’s Director, said:  “After the success of the summer show we are really looking forward to welcoming some new cast members and performing some brand new material.

Your Aunt Fanny is a great opportunity for a group of highly skilled young women to showcase their talents and to challenge some of the stereotypes on the comedy scene.

“Laura Lindow and Lee Mattinson have furnished them with some fantastic material to highlight just how versatile the cast are.”

Writer Lee Mattinson said: “It’s been nought but an absolute treat to work with this gaggle of talented girls.”

Reviewing the group’s inaugural performance, Giggle Beats said: “There’s plenty of gusto and very little consideration for their own dignity, but it’s great fun.”

Tickets: £8, £6 concession, £3 Youth Theatre members.

Your Aunt Fanny performs at the Studio Theatre at Live Theatre, Newcastle on 1st and 2nd November 2013. Tickets can be booked by contacting Live Theatre’s box office on (0191) 232 1232 or online at www.live.org.uk.
