North East comedy promoters Ten Feet Tall today announced a sackful of new shows for 2013.

The likes of Sarah Millican, Jon Richardson, Al Murray and Kevin Bridges have all played their Middlesbrough Town Hall venue in the past 12 months, with over 40,000 fans watching tour shows and club nights on Teesside.

And organisers have moved quickly to secure some of comedy’s big hitters for the New Year.

Local lad Patrick Monahan (8 March), Rich Hall (13 May), Sean Lock (26 May), Jimmy Carr (24 September) and Ed Byrne (4 October) all confirmed dates with Ten Feet Tall this afternoon.

They join TV regulars Micky Flanagan (2 May) and Jason Manford (19 & 20 July) in the 2013 programme.

Elsewhere, the Stockton Arts Centre will play host to David O’Doherty (13 March), Andy Parsons (19 April) and Simon Evans (1 May) in the spring.

Hebburn creator Jason Cook will also return to Teesside in 2013.

Graham Ramsay, of Ten Feet Tall, said: “It’s the nature of our business to always be focused on the next show or the next run of dates, and we don’t very often allow ourselves the luxury of looking back.

“At Ten Feet Tall we’re promoting comedy in half a dozen different venues now, and the acts, the crowds and the ticket sales have been amazing across the board.

He added: “Bring on New Year’s Eve then let’s see if we can top it in 2013 – it won’t be easy, but we’ll give it our very best shot!”

More shows are set to be confirmed early in the New Year.
