South Shields comedy club to return
South Shields comedy club Laughterholics will return in February after a nine month absence.
The club, which has been on hiatus since May last year, have announced a new show for Friday 21 February featuring Viz co-creator Simon Donald and musical comedian Stephen Frizzle.
And in a change of venue, Laughterholics shows will now take place upstairs at The Mile in South Shields town centre.
Promoter Luke Milford said he was delighted to be bringing the comedy club back to South Shields.
“I’m really excited to be bringing Laughterholics back; I’ve been busy lately and needed a new venue, so it’s been on the back burner a little,” Milford said.
“My new venue, The Mile, for me is arguably one of the best venues in South Shields. It has a cracking stage complete with grand piano – which I am sure Frizz will use to his full advantage.
“I really think we are back with a bang in the form of our headliner Simon Donald. He’s performed for us before and we had to turn people away; it was a complete sell out then so I am hoping for another fantastic night.”
David Callaghan, Jack Gardner and Mark Kennedy are also on the bill.
Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8.15pm.
