Sky to air new Julia Davis comedy
A new comedy series from Julia Davis is to be produced by Sky Atlantic.
Davis, the creator of Human Remains, Nighty Night and Hunderby, will write and star in Robin’s Test, a six-part series following a group of couples on a birthday camping trip to Dorset.
The carefully planned weekend quickly unravels once Davis’ party girl Fay arrives with the newly separated Tom – played by Rufus Jones – and the holiday takes on a whole new direction.
The series will also star Vicki Pepperdine, Steve Pemberton, Jonathan Cake, and Liz Berrington all under the curiously watchful eye of David Bamber’s campsite owner.
Davis said: “I am very, very excited to be making another series for Sky Atlantic thanks to the great creative freedom and support of Zai Bennett and Lucy Lumsden.”
Director of Sky Atlantic Zai Bennett commented: “Known for grown-up storytelling and working with the best in the industry, Sky Atlantic is the perfect home for Julia Davis’s sublime work. Alongside drama Sky Atlantic is investing in top flight, cinematic quality comedy and Julia’s new series is a great way to start the next year.”
