Paddy McGuinness has remained coy on rumours that Phoenix Nights may be set for a comeback in 2015.

Last week, Peter Kay told fans to expect “a big announcement about Phoenix Nights sometime in the next 10 days”.

But when asked about Kay’s comments, McGuiness told Digital Spy: “I don’t know anything. But I’ll tell you what, I’ll text him later. Peter is good at that. He’ll go, ‘There’s an announcement coming’, but because he never does any telly or interviews – muggings has to fend it all off.

“So that seems to be what’s happened at the moment. When you see Peter, ask him.”

When asked if he’d welcome a reunion, the Take Me Out host joked: “No, I don’t think I’m going to be involved. I don’t get on with any of them in real life and I don’t want anything to do with it.”

Asked if that meant a yes, McGuinness simply laughed in response.

Phoenix Nights ran for two series between 2000 and 2001.

Its spin-off, Max and Paddy’s Road To Nowhere, had one series on Channel 4 in 2004.
