The Great Yorkshire Fringe’s debut line-up keeps bubbling up, with Al Murray, Henning Wehn and Reginald D Hunter among the latest big names to be announced.

The line-up already features Rob Beckett, Eleanor Tiernan and Paul Foot, plus previews from Simon Munnery and Tony Law.

Founder of the Fringe, Martin Witts, says he is “delighted at the calibre of the comedy stars we have signed up to entertain the city of York this summer.”

He added: “These are all superstars who have performed at our West End venue, Leicester Square Theatre, and are among the biggest names in the business.”

Edinburgh Fringe and London favourite Margaret Thatcher, Queen of Soho also features as part of 100 shows over ten days – including music, theatre and cabaret as well as an already extensive comedy bill; plus with physical comedy sketch duo The Kagools and James Campbell’s Comedy 4 Kids making up a part of the family-friendly line-up, this first Great Yorkshire Fringe is already packed with fantastic acts.

The festival is also showcasing 100 new acts during its heats for The Great Yorkshire Fringe New Comedian of the Year – the final will be on the last night of the Fringe.

And even with the names they’ve already snagged, organisers say “we still have a few last minute surprises to spring… we’ll be announcing other great names right up to the last minute – so keep checking The Great Yorkshire Fringe on Facebook and Twitter!”
