Keith Allen joins Uncle
Keith Allen is joining the cast of Uncle.
The actor and comedian will make an appearance in the upcoming series of the BBC Three sitcom as Andy’s dying Uncle Frank, who he tries to reconnect with in the hope of getting a mention in his will. The episode leads to an unforgettable family reunion in Frank’s cabin.
Despite being recognised as an actor, Allen first found success as a stand-up comedian opening for The Clash.
The father of singer Lily Allen has been involved in a number of comedy projects in the past, including the Carry On films, The Comic Strip Presents…, Twin Town, Black Books and his own comedy show, I Love Keith Allen.
He joins a raft of guest stars announced for the BBC Three series today, including The Inbetweeners star Martin Trenaman, Downton Abbey’s Raquel Cassidy and Jordan Stephens from hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks.
Trenaman, best known for his role as Ben Cooper, Simon’s dad in The Inbetweeners and as Lance in Phoneshop, plays Andy’s landlord George, while Cassidy guest stars as Andy’s cougar girlfriend, Teresa.
Rizzle Kicks star Stephens is featured in one of the episodes of the new run, playing a character called Hugo who works in a recording studio. Hugo sneaks Andy and Errol into the studio as Andy tries to record an entry for a lucrative song contest.
Uncle returns to BBC Three on Tuesday 10 February.
