Hebburn star returns to Tyneside for comedy play
HEBBURN STAR Pat Dunn is returning to Tyneside for a comedy production at the Customs House in South Shields. Dunn will play a cantankerous, forgetful gran in possession of a winning lottery ticket in Lucky Numbers, which arrives at the riverside theatre on Wednesday 15 October for an 11-show run. Dunn reprises the role that she created when the play won the People’s Play Award in 2008. Book tickets.
THE EDINBURGH FRINGE has recorded another box office record this year, with 218 million ticket sales and nearly 50,000 performances. The new stats represent a 12% increase on the number of tickets sold at the 2013 festival.
THE FINALISTS have been revealed for the 2014 Funny Women competition. They include Newcastle comedian Lauren Pattison, Aine Gallagher, Faye Daniels, Hannah Bannana, Hawkeye and Windy, Jayde Adams, Massive Dad, Pauline Shanahan, Robyn Perkins and Samantha Baines. The ten finalists will compete at the Leicester Square Theatre on 22 September.
