I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue, Radio 4’s ‘antidote to panel games’, will tour the UK with a new stage show in 2014.

The shows will feature the show’s regular panellists Barry Cryer, Graeme Garden, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Jeremy Hardy, with Colin Sell providing piano accompaniment.

The role of the chairman will be shared between Rob Brydon and the radio show’s chairman Jack Dee, with Brydon hosting in Newcastle, and Dee taking the reins in Manchester and Leeds.

The new stage production, which follows several sell out national tours, will not be recorded for broadcast, but will follow the format of the radio shows.

The show’s website describes the format of the game as ” very simple”, with “four players are given silly things to do by the chairman, with Colin Sell setting some of them to music.”

Audience members will also be provided with a kazoo, a long running feature of the quiz, which was first broadcast in 1972.

The format of the touring show is a ‘Greatest Hits’ presentation of the finest material from Clue’s enormous archives, ably retrieved by Samantha and her two kindly archivist friends.

Radio presenter Nathan Pace, who has attended several recordings of the series and tour dates, said: “The ISIHAC tour is a great way to see what goes into making an episode of the show, with the added benefit that as it’s not an actual episode being recorded each show, there’s a bigger selection of games played than what you’d usually hear on a broadcast or indeed in a regular recording.

“The atmosphere in the theatre is great.”

The radio show was originally presented by Humphrey Lyttelton, who died only three weeks following the recording of the live DVD of the 2008 stage show.

I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue will stop off at Newcastle City Hall on 25 February 2014, Manchester’s Palace Theatre on 1 April 2014, and Leeds Grand Theatre on 2 June 2014. All dates on the national tour can be found here.
