Cofilmic Founder Nominated For Inspiration Award
The founder of Manchester’s Cofilmic comedy filmmaking network has been nominated for an Inspiring Women Award.
Janet Harrison, who started the company last year, is nominated in the Creative & Media group for her work with Cofilmic, a group which aims to boost collaboration and creativity between comedians and filmmakers in the North West. Cofilmic will host its inaugural comedy film festival this year.
Janet said: “It is always nice to be nominated for an award and I am hoping this is the start of people taking comedy film seriously and increasing the profile of this industry in the UK”
Cofilmic works in conjunction with Manchester’s Comedy Store and will be hosting its first festival at the venue this year from October 1st through to November, with anyone who hopes to break into comedy film and television (including actors, writers, comedians, producers and directors) invited to enter a short film for review by a panel of esteemed judges from the world of entertainment and show business.
The 19th annual Inspiring Women Awards ceremony will take place on 20 May 2011 at The Midland Hotel in Manchester.
