COFILMIC back for second year – and submissions are now open…

COFILMIC Comedy Film Festival

Submissions for the 2nd COFILMIC Comedy Film Festival are now officially open.

Comedy writers, producers, directors and performers are encouraged to submit films of no more than 5 minutes for the competition’s three categories – Best Comedy Short Film, Best Sketch and Best Sitcom Pilot or Web Series.

The films are then reviewed by industry figures and those shortlisted will be invited to a ceremony at The Comedy Store, Manchester, during the COFILMIC Comedy Film Festival 2012 on 29th – 30th October.

COFILMIC founder Janet Harrison said: “This year, our festival will be bigger and better than ever, with new and exciting collaborations meaning even more opportunities for people submitting material. So many new projects have taken off as a result of last year’s festival and some of that work will be showcased in October.”

As well as the COFILMIC Awards – where the submitted films are judged – the festival features panel discussions, industry roundtables and workshops spread over the two days.

Films are submitted through the COFILMIC website: www.cofilmic.co.uk. There is a fee of £15 for each submission, and submissions close on 13th August 2012.
