Chris Ramsey pilots C4 show

Channel 4 is to pilot a new show hosted by Chris Ramsey.

Chris Ramsey’s Too Much Information promises “a unique take on the big mainstream pop culture stories with the studio audience taking part in their own social media challenges.”

The show, like Russell Howard’s Good News, also promises guest stand-ups along with clips, sketches and audience interaction.

A press release for the show reads: “With Chris having gained a notoriety on social media, who better to delve into the crème de la crème of the headlines, trends and news from across the media spectrum including TV, news and online?”

The pilot episode was commissioned by Channel 4’s Head of Formats, Dom Bird and is an Avalon Television production produced by Mark Iddon with Executive Producers Richard Allen-Turner and Jon Thoday.

Ramsey and Hebburn creator Jason Cook have been working through material for the show at The Stand Comedy Club, Newcastle, in recent weeks.
