Hebburn star Chris Ramsey is coming to Newton Aycliffe this summer.

Ramsey, who played Jack Pearson in the now axed BBC2 sitcom, heads to Planet Leisure on Friday 15 August for a special performance of his latest show, The Most Dangerous Man On Saturday Morning Television.

The show, organised by Hilarity Bites Comedy Club, comes a day before Ramsey takes the show to the Edinburgh Fringe for an eight-night run at Pleasance One.

Neil Jollie, of Hilarity Bites, said: “We’re really pleased that Chris has chosen Hilarity Bites for a warm-up show prior to his performances at the Edinburgh Fringe. We’ve worked with him since he first took his steps into comedy, and seeing him perform sell out shows in huge venues is really exciting.

“Chris has always previewed shows with us since those early days, and this is a real coup for Newton Aycliffe to have an act of Chris’ stature performing at Planet Leisure.”

Tickets for the show, priced £8, will be exclusively on sale to audience members at Hilarity Bites’ upcoming shows at Planet Leisure, starting with tonight’s show featuring Gary Little, Fin Taylor, Brennan Reece and MC Ray Peacock.
