Teenage comedian Jack Carroll has made it through to the final of Britain’s Got Talent.

Carroll, who has cerebral palsy, told hosts Ant and Dec “I sort of knew. It’s a bit mad that, isn’t it?” as he sailed through to next week’s final on the audience vote.

However the judges were also quick to praise Carroll’s set.

David Walliams branded him “the new Peter Kay”, while Amanda Holden said: “Jack, I know we saw you briefly before the show started and I know you were really, really nervous… I couldn’t be prouder.”

Simon Cowell, meanwhile, praised him despite a joke which compared the show’s mastermind with North Korea dictator Kim Jong-Un. Cowell said: “It’s been actually worth making this show just to meet you.

“I absolutely loved you! You’ve got a wicked sense of humour. I could have killed you half way through the performance… Brilliant.”

Frankie Boyle also took to Twitter to give his approval, writing: “The comedian kid is better than loads of pros #BBGT”

Last week the teenager, from Bradford, performed in Los Angeles alongside Sarah Silverman, Seth Rogen and Vince Vaughn at the Big Live Comedy Show for YouTube’s Comedy Week.
