The BBC has confirmed that they have commissioned a full series of Sarah Millican’s chat show and will begin airing it on BBC2 next year.

The show, currently known under the working title ‘The Sarah Millican Show’, follows on the heels of a successful pilot episode which was filmed in March and produced by Graham Norton’s ‘So Television’ production company.

Production of the series will be a joint effort between Millican’s own ‘Chopsy Productions’ and So’s newly established Scottish division. In a statement, So Television described the show as: “A half hour of caring 10pm comedy from a woman who really understands how we all feel”

BBC commissioner Alan Tyler commented: “Sarah is a truly unique combination of wit, warmth and killer punch-lines.” Millican herself, however, took to Twitter to break the news to her followers, tweeting: “BBC 2, series, me, yay, fuck, woop, yay.”

The Sarah Millican Television show will film its six part run in Salford early next year.
