Andy Fury to headline Stand quiz night

Award-winning comedian Andy Fury will headline the Giggle Beats Comedy Quiz when it returns to The Stand next month.

The Hebburn stand-up will appear alongside host Seymour Mace at the Newcastle comedy club’s monthly quiz night on Sunday 2 March.

Fury, winner of the Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year competition in 2010, is currently writing his debut Edinburgh show, Andy Fury Loves Film, and will be previewing elements of the show at the quiz.

Giggle Beats editor Andrew Dipper said: “I’m chuffed to bits that Andy has agreed to headline the Giggle Beats Comedy Quiz for us in March.

“I watched an early preview of his Loves Film show at Jesterval in October and I can’t wait to see how it’s developed since then.”

The Giggle Beats Comedy Quiz combines stand-up with the traditional pub quiz format.

Comedy fans will have their knowledge put to the test by quiz master Seymour Mace, before a stand-up set to round off the night.

Tickets for the show are just £2, with prizes including a three-course meal for two at The Stand bistro, tickets to the best comedy shows in Newcastle, comedy merchandise courtesy of Baby Cow Productions and Channel X, and more. Or you can swap your prize for Seymour’s sack of shite.
