A Quest To Stardom returns

The Alphabetti Theatre’s wonky gameshow returns for a third installment on Sunday.

Hosted by comedian Lewis Gray, A Quest To Stardom sets two teams of comedians against each other to joke, insult, chant, and sing their way towards becoming the next big star.

Previous games have resulted in one stewards enquiry, people’s mothers being brought into it and some light shoving. Expect competitive idiots, laughter and silliness.

This month sees the return of Team Captain David Callaghan and guest Team Captain Hal Branson. They’ll be joined by Joby Mageean, Jack Gardner, Si Beckwith, and special guest Jaff Craig of The Futureheads.

“It’s probably the most fun I’ve had onstage,” said Callaghan.

“Lewis brings the audience and comedians into his delightful, bizarre, and hilarious world from the word go, and it’s a real joy to be part of. Although I tend to get too competitive, overly petulant, and eventually lose.

“Still, I reckon this month is mine – watch out Hal, I’m coming for you.”

A Quest To Stardom, Alphabetti Theatre, The Basement, 18 New Bridge Street West, Newcastle, Sunday 13 September 2015, 7.30pm, £5/£3 advance. Buy tickets.
