Stand-up for the orangutans! Comedians gather for OrangAid benefit.
Chris Ramsey and Justin Moorhouse will perform at the Sumatran Orangutan Society’s fifth OrangAid benefit at the Manchester Comedy Store on Monday 14th November, organisers have announced.
Ramsey, a 2011 Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee and regular guest on 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Moorhouse, star of Phoenix Nights will be joined on the bill by Martin Mor, Dave Johns, Gary Morris and more names yet to be announced.
All proceeds raised by the event will go to SOS, supporting orangutan conservation projects in Sumatra.
Comedian Chris Ramsey said: “It’ll be a great night, in a fantastic venue for a very deserving cause. Orangutans are amazing creatures. Someone is bound to sing King of the Swingers… I will leave early if no one does.”
Previous charity shows have featured the likes of SOS Patron Bill Bailey, Tim Minchin and Stewart Lee, who wrote a song about SOS especially for the night.
Helen Buckland, SOS UK Director, said: “We love putting on the OrangAid events – you’re guaranteed a brilliant night of comedy, whilst also helping us help orangutans. There’s no better way to spend a Monday night!”
Tickets for the show are available via www.thecomedystore.co.uk or call the box office on 0161 839 9595, priced £12 / £10 students (plus booking fee). For the latest on the line-up visit www.orangutans-sos.org/events.
