Reg D. Hunter returns to Tyneside on September 29th
American stand-up Reginald D Hunter returns to the North East on Thursday 29th September with a new show at the Journal Tyne Theatre in Newcastle. A TV regular on the likes of Live at the Apollo and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Hunter is back on tour and is again joined on Tyneside by support act Steve Hughes.
Speaking exclusively to Giggle Beats, Hunter said: “If you come and see me you can expect constant, relentless, comedic pressure from all angles – from your own points of view, and from points of view you’ve never considered. And if you’re easily offended, not just by words but ideas, then, you know, that’s what they make Lee Evans DVDs for. You should check that cat out.”
On Steve Hughes, he added: “Steve is one of maybe three or four comics who, when I see him perform, I think, Jesus, I’ve got to go back and start writing. I get that inspiration from him every day, because I watch him perform every day. I genuinely believe that when you’re doing a long tour, you have to pick somebody to tour with you who is as good as you, or if you’re lucky someone better than you.”
Reginald D Hunter performs at the Journal Tyne Theatre in Newcastle on Thursday 29th September. Tickets are available here, priced at £20 with a £2.90 booking fee.
