Patrick Monahan for Let’s Dance For Sport Relief
Show Me The Funny winner Patrick Monahan has been unveiled as a contestant on this year’s Let’s Dance For Sport Relief.
The Irish-Iranian stand-up follows in the footsteps of comedians such as Robert Webb and Rufus Hound, who have both won the charity competition in recent years.
Monahan will be one of twenty acts who are set to perform famous dance routines on this year’s show, with the winner being crowned before the Sport Relief Telethon.
According to a BBC press release: “The series will run over five consecutive Saturday nights, comprising four heats and culminating in a final dance-off spectacular ahead of 2012’s big Sport Relief night.”
Terry Alderton, Omid Djalili, Angelos Epithemiou and Ava Vidal will also take part in this year’s competition, as well as The Fast Show’s Arabella Weir, double act Watson & Olive and Rowland Rivron. Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, Scot Mills and Olly Murs complete the line-up.
Patrick Monahan will be touring the country from the 28th of January. A full list of dates can be found on his website.
