DVD review: Jason Manford, First World Problems

Not many DVDs come with the provenance of First World Problems. Having begun as a mammoth, 113-date tour in June 2013, it has been extended and extended into a behemoth of over 300 dates, with venues booked well into 2015. The numbers alone suggest that Jason Manford is doing something right.

Edinburgh Fringe review: Ian Fox Presents The Unsearchables

Whatever your taste in comedy, you’ll find it on the Fringe. Even gentle comedy, which isn’t the height of fashion, is represented, notably by Ian Fox.

Edinburgh Fringe review: Pippa Evans, Don’t Worry, I Don’t Know Who I Am Either

The title of the show could easily refer to the fact that she’s spreading her talents round three different shows on the Fringe. In fact, it’s about for once being out front and centre, as Pippa Evans.

Edinburgh Fringe review: Kwame Asante, Basket Case

Edinburgh Fringe review: Kwame Asante, Basket Case

The flyer, a photo of a super cute toddler kneeling in a basket, makes sense of the show’s title. 20 plus years on and Kwame Asante is 6.3 and built accordingly. If first impressions count for anything he’s got a great young look and good stage presence.

Edinburgh Fringe review: Ray Peacock, Here Comes Trouble

Edinburgh Fringe review: Lewis Schaffer, Success Is Not An Option

Edinburgh Fringe review: Lewis Schaffer, Success Is Not An Option

On the way in, the man himself was waiting with a handshake and his thanks for coming. He repeated the process on the way out. It was a nice touch. What happened in between was controversial, provocative, shocking, tasteless and hugely, hugely funny.
