The release date for the Alan Partridge movie has been announced. Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa is out on 7 August. Watch the trailer.

Stephen Fry and Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint are teaming up for a new US sitcom pilot. CBS show Super Clyde is about a fast-food worker who decides to become a superhero. Grint will take the lead role of Clyde and Fry will be his sidekick, Randolph – the butler.

Another comedian getting his own sitcom is Tommy Tiernan. Sky have commissioned a six-part show a discharged psychiatric patient who goes back to living with his with his mother.

The BBC blurb for Vic and Bob’s House of Rooms: “Amidst this chaos, Bob is trying to organise his first date in over six months. Will he be able to get a grip on his new lady friend – or will he be scuppered by the obstacles which keep, literally, blocking his way?” Our story.

Tony Law on reviews of his material: “Sometimes I’ve had a really positive review and even though they’ve liked it they’ve said it was meaningless. Maybe I’m wrong but I think there is meaning in what I do, and also it comes from a good place. My wife and I work really hard at looking at it and she asks me questions like ‘who’s that for?’, or ‘why are you doing that?’ She convinces me meaning is there, though I suppose it’s hard to see at first glance.”

Radio 4 have ordered a new sitcom from American comic Rita Rudner. The Rita Rudner Show starts on Monday 1 April 2013 at 11:30am.

Wrestler Mick Foley on his 2011 comedy show: “I regret that I called it comedy to begin with; I should have called it An Evening With or put it down as spoken word.” Foley’s latest show, Tales of Wrestling Past, is touring the UK in April.

Sarah Millican has added a fourth date to her mini-run at Middlesbrough Town Hall. That takes Millican’s tour dates in the North East up to 15 – including eight nights at the Journal Tyne Theatre in Newcastle. Details.

And last but not least, Comic Relief raised over £75m for charities in the UK and abroad on Friday night. Highlights included David Brent’s return in a mini-episode of The Office, David Walliams and Simon Cowell in a wedding sketch and Peter Kay sitting down for a week.
