Radio 4 have commissioned a pilot of Peacock & Gamble’s 2011 Edinburgh Fringe show, Emergency Broadcast.

Loosely following the plot of their 2011 show, the pilot finds Ray Peacock and Ed Gamble living in a bunker beneath Broadcasting House.

In the event of a BBC Radio 4 show dropping off the airwaves, they will be called on air to cover the lost episode with their own emergency broadcast.

The duo announced the news on their website, writing: “We are going to be recording Peacock & Gamble Emergency Broadcast for Radio 4 in May.

“You may recall we done that show in 2011? Well it’s a bit like that, but mostly different.”

And speaking to Giggle Beats, Peacock & Gamble said: “We are flattered and flabbergasted that so many people are risking their jobs and reputation on allowing us on the radio some more.

“It will be a load of fun and we will try and do our very best but we have just got some new PS3 games so it may be a rush job at the end of April.”

Emergency Broadcast will be recorded on Monday 13 May at the Soho Theatre, London.

As with most broadcast recordings tickets are free, though the duo’s mailing list members will be given priority.

Peacock & Gamble are currently touring their 2012 Edinburgh show, Peacock & Gamble Don’t Even Want To Be On Telly Anyway!

They visit the Durham Gala Theatre on Thursday 21 March, with dates in Harrogate, Kendal and York to follow.
