Ricky Gervais has told the Radio Times that he is returning to stand-up. Humanity will be Gervais’ first show since 2009.

Meanwhile, Gervais’ pal Karl Pilkington has been signed up by Sky1 for another comedy documentary series – entitled The Moaning of Life.

The Glasgow Comedy Festival has unveiled its 2013 programme. Jimmy Carr, Harry Hill and Sean Lock are the stand-out names. Details.

Finally, Tenacious D have announced plans to launch a comedy rock festival in Los Angeles. Jack Black and Kyle Gass have booked the Santa Monica Pier on October 19th, with the likes of Tim Minchin, Flight of the Concords and Eric Idle rumoured to be playing. Details.
