Funny Way To Be announce Christmas show
Hebburn creator Jason Cook will host the Funny Way To Be Christmas show in Barnard Castle next month.
Cook, who co-wrote the BBC2 sitcom about his hometown, is to front the comedy club’s final show of the year on Saturday 1 December, sharing the bill with Gary Delaney and Dave Johns. Support comes from North East comic Graham Oakes, who’ll be performing a short set at the Parish Hall.
Promoter Peter Dixon said: “We wanted to end the year with an outstanding show. We have booked three acts that could easily headline any comedy show.
“Jason Cook is just a wonderful MC. Gary Delaney is a top TV comic famous for his one liners. We were fortunate enough to also book top comic Dave Johns as he’s performing in various top North East venues over the weekend.”
Cook said: “I’m looking forward to it. Something extraordinary always happens when I play that gig. Lets see what happens this time…”
The Parish Hall show on 1 December continues a night of festivities in Barnard Castle, with the Son et Lumiere event and Christmas light switch-on earlier in the day.
Tickets are priced at £8 in advance or £10 on the night.
