The Godfathers of surrealist comedy, Reeves and Mortimer, are due to make a web-based return to sketch comedy next month.

The new show, titled Vic and Bob’s Afternoon Delights, will air daily throughout the week between 4th and 29th of July and will see the pair bringing a raft of brand new characters to the screen.

Vic and Bob’s Afternoon delights will be screened on Fosters’ comedy website, fostersfunny.co.uk. The new show is the second big name production from the lager brand after they successfully revived Alan Partridge last year with Mid Morning Matters, and sees Fosters continue its concerted move into comedy endorsement, sponsoring as they do both the British Comedy Awards and Edinburgh Comedy Awards amongst other events and programmes.

Reeves and Mortimer have previously hinted at a desire to return to sketch comedy, citing the BBC’s reluctance to commission a show other than Shooting Stars as their main stumbling block. Reeves said: “Foster’s has given us the freedom to let our imaginations run wild and present to you, via the internet, some exclusive characters and sketches.”

Fosters marketing manager, Gayle Harrison, described the duo as a “unique comic phenomenon’ and “two of Britain’s most admired comedy actors” adding,: “We know our core brand audience will enjoy seeing Vic and Bob unearth more precious  comedy gold moments in the new series.”

Watch Vic and Bob’s Afternoon delights on www.fostersfunny.co.uk from Thurs 4th July.
