Jason Byrne announces Stockton date
Popular Irish comic Jason Byrne is to stop at Stockton later this year.
Byrne, who has previously appeared on Live at the Apollo, The Royal Variety Show, Dave’s One Night Stand and The John Bishop Show, will play Stockton’s ARC on Thursday 24 November.
Byrne’s previous show saw the comic utilise a vast array of props and stunts, alongside his trademark mix of manic stand-up and audience participation.
The addition of props to Byrne’s set proved popular, and will be expanded upon in his current run, which will feature giant ducks, rubber hands and big wooden pegs, as well as several magic tricks.
The biggest selling comedian at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Byrne’s sell out shows have attracted accolades including the Perrier Newcomer Award Nomination and the Perrier Award Nomination.
Graham Ramsay of promoters Ten Feet Tall said: “I caught Jason doing something on the telly a couple of weeks ago, and it just reminded me what an amazing stand-up he is.
“We’ve worked with him a good few times over the years, and the feedback has been amazing every time. Judging from the advance info for this tour, these shows sound like they are going to be fairly nuts…. God only knows what that poor audience has in store. Can’t wait to find out though!
“This is the first time he’s played ARC in a long time, and he has a really dedicated fan-base, so we’re expecting a load of interest once this one goes on sale.”
Tickets for Jason Byrne is Propped Up are priced £17.50, and are on sale now from ARC’s box office.
