Comedians and comedy clubs regularly host shows to raise money for charity, but this weekend Punch Drunk Comedy Club will be hosting a fundraiser with a difference – the comics will be trading in their mic stands for boxing gloves.

In partnership with Millennium Martial Arts, UK Comics Boxing: Fight for Kian will see 20 of the UK’s top comics square up in aid of Caring For Kian.

The show will take place at Blyth Sports Centre, Northumberland on Sunday, with Rhod Gilbert overseeing 10 bouts of boxing between Jarred Christmas, Tom Houghton, Barry Dodds, Phil Nichol, Matt Reed, Bobby Mair, Milo McCabe, Chris Martin, Carl Donnelly, Dave Hadingham, James Dowdeswell, Gavin Webster , Nicola Mantalios-Lovett, Mark Nelson, Adam Rowe, Elliot Steel, Pat Monohan, Penella Mellor, John Hastings, Barry Castagnola.

All profits from the show will be donated to the #CaringForKian campaign, which is aiming to raise £550,000 to pay for cancer treatment in the US for local youngster Kian Musgrove.

Also chipping in is Cramlington gangsters and YouTube sensations Buzzcocks and Trekka. The pair have made their first appearance in ten years in an exclusive video for the event.

The show is now sold out, but you can still donate to the campaign here.
