Johnny Vegas biopic in the works
Johnny Vegas’s autobiography is to be made into a film.
The best-selling book, which tells the story of Michael Pennington’s journey from wannabe priest to wayward comedian, is currently being developed by Sky, according to comedy website Beyond The Joke.
Vegas, best known for his roles in ITV’s Benidorm, and BBC Three sitcom Ideal, hopes to direct the film, charting his early life in Lancashire, his time at a Catholic seminary, and his beginnings in comedy.
Still in its development stages, the film is yet to be cast, however Vegas recently commented that the starring role would have to go to someone young who “drank cider” and “fought geese”.
