Newcastle’s Tyne Theatre to celebrate 30 years of Viz
Newcastle’s Tyne Theatre is to celebrate 30 years of Viz with a special anniversary show this summer.
The comic’s creators Chris and Simon Donald will appear on stage together for the first time in 20 years on Wednesday 5 August, answering fan questions in a unique Q&A hosted by Geordie magician Chris Cross.
The night promises to be “a Geordie night OOT not to be missed, like!”, with a cabaret show of comedy magic from Cross, live music from The Purest Green, stand-up from Simon Donald’s alter egos Bingo from Benton and Barry Twyford, and an interview with Chris Donald, as well as the Q&A at the end of the night.
Exclusive limited edition merchandise and artwork will be available at the gig, specifically created for the one-off event.
There will also be a charity auction with original Viz goodies up for grabs, all in aid of St. Oswald’s Hospice.
Organiser Chris Cross said: “This is a once in a lifetime unique opportunity for any Viz fan. It’s not to be missed and promises to be a thoroughly entertaining evening for all!”
Tickets for the show are on sale now, priced £13.20.
