New comedy night launches in Gateshead
A new stand-up night is launching on Tyneside next month.
Rocking With Laughter debuts at The Three Tuns pub in Gateshead on Monday 9 March, with a headline appearance by rising Geordie comic, Lee Kyle.
A former Giggle Beats New Act Of The Year, Kyle spent a decade as a professional wrestler before trying his hand at stand-up.
Kyle is a regular at the nearby Stand Comedy Club in Newcastle, where he will soon be performing his debut comedy show, The Ultimate Worrier. He said: “I can’t wait to perform at Rocking With Laughter for the lovely boys and girls of Gateshead.”
Rocking With Laughter is organised by Newcastle resident Byker Dan, who will also be performing on the night. Dan, who is currently organising a charity gala for the Hebburn Stroke Club, added: “We’ve put together a ‘best of up-and-coming Geordie comedy’ for our first show at The Three Tuns.
“Lee Kyle is a stand-up I always enjoy watching and our host Si Buglass is great fun. Let’s hope the room is full and rocking with laughter.”
Geordie stand-ups David Callaghan, Billy Mac, Julian Lee and Robbie Stewart complete the line-up.
Tickets for the first Rocking With Laughter are £4, payable on the night. The show starts at 8pm.
