Jason Cook kicks off new comedy season in Hartlepool
Hartlepool’s Hot Potato Comedy Club has a string of storming Saturday nights coming up at the Town Hall Theatre over the next few months.
And only a handful of tickets are left for the first show of the brand new season this Saturday night, (Sat 21 Feb), with Hebburn creator Jason Cook hosting a strong line-up of Charlie Baker and Paul Pirie to get the brand new season off to a flying start.
It’s all part of a tasty mix of familiar TV faces, some of the best up and coming comics in the country, and three of the monthly club’s favourite MC’s that are all set to keep the laughs flowing thick and fast well into the spring.
Peter Vincent of promoters Ten Feet Tall, who work alongside the Town Hall Theatre to bring Hot Potato to Hartlepool, said: “It’s always a sure sign that spring’s in the air when Hot Potato is ready to kick off again, and this year is looking good already.
“Jason Cook, Matt Reed and Danny McLoughlin are three of our favourite MC’s and are all back by public demand!
“And we have a bundle of great comics coming up over the next few months – a big mix of people that some fans will know from bags of top telly, and some fantastic emerging comics who we know comedy fans are going to love.
“Jason Cook gets us off to a flier this Saturday, hosting Charlie Baker and Paul Pirie. Charlie is amazing, and watch out for Paul Pirie at this one. Comedy bigwigs are already comparing him to Eric Morecambe, so he’s obviously doing something spectacularly right.
“Matt Reed is our special guest MC in March, and watch out for Adam Staunton at this one. Adam is absolutely fantastic, and it’s easy to see why he’s happily worked alongside the likes of John Bishop and Sarah Millican.
“April looks good too, with Scott Bennett winning rave reviews left right and centre, and May’s line-up includes Nathan Caton from Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo and bags more top telly.
“So it’s a great few months coming up really. Tickets have been flying out for the first gig this Saturday, so it’s well worth buying early for the next few months too.
“The theatre here is absolutely gorgeous, comics love playing here, and it all makes for a perfect Saturday night out. Basically, if you like Mock the Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats or Live at the Apollo, then you can’t fall off here.”
