BBC Radio’s famous comedy panel game I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue is coming to Sunderland Empire next year.

The I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue Stage Show will stop in at the venue for one night only on Thursday 8 January 2015. Sandi Toksvig will chair the live shows, appearing alongside regular panellists Tim Brooke-Taylor, Barry Cryer, Graeme Garden and Jeremy Hardy.

The ‘greatest hits’ style live show will feature the most popular games from the programme, which regularly attracts an audience of about 2.5 million listeners to BBC Radio 4. Although the programme is regularly recorded at various venues around the country, the live version of the show first toured until 2008.

A regular feature on BBC Radio 4 since 1972, I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue regularly attracts over 2.5 million listeners.

Toksvig will take over from regular chairman Jack Dee, who according to Toksvig, has been “sent on a Herring awareness course in the Lofoten Islands. It’s rather intense and he won’t be back for some time.”

On taking over the chair, having been a guest on the show several times, Toksvig said; “I think it was only a matter of time. The truth is I don’t really like sitting with the other panelists as some of their conditions are catching.”

“I have played here before,” Toskvig says, “and I love the Sunderland Empire. Vesta Tilley performed here and they say Sid James’ ghost walks the halls. How marvelous. No wonder the audiences are so happy.”

Tickets are £21.50 and are available in person at Sunderland Empire’s Box Office, by calling 0844 871 3022 or booking online.
