Channel 4 release new online comedy series
Channel Four has assembled a gang of brilliant comedy names for its online series, Taxi Gags.
Celia Pacquola, Pierre Novellie, Rhys James are among those sharing their drunken misadventures, tales of sporting trials and tribulations, and to decry diets, dreams and how today’s youth are getting it all wrong.
Taxi Gags is a series of twelve mini episodes, full of jokes, rants and stories from great comedians, all in the back of taxi. This kind of sit down stand-up format is a brilliant idea for Channel Four’s most recent online venture, and the five-minute clips are perfect for watching on the bus, on your lunch break or simply in a back-to-back laugh-filled binge.
Since 1998 Channel Four have been giving a platform to and supporting new comedy talent through their Comedy Lab and Comedy Showcase series.
For the past few years, they have been increasing their online-only output via their fantastic Comedy Blaps, with mini features from the likes of Daniel Simonsen and Nick Helm.
Roisin Conaty’s Onwards and Onwards Comedy Blaps were nominated for a British Comedy Award for Best Internet Comedy Programme, and resulted in the fantastic Game Face pilot this April.
Tony Law, Kerry Godliman, Aisling Bea, Eric Lampaert and the marvellously musical Jay Foreman all contribute their best bits to Taxi Gags.
You can find them all on 4oD now, with more apparently on the way.
