Alan Carr, Black Mirror, Derek for Christmas on Channel 4

Channel 4 has unveiled details of its Christmas TV schedule, with lots of comedy for the winter period.

Alan Carr is to front a Chatty Man Christmas Special and his New Year Specstacular, while Adam Hills hosts The Last Leg of the Year and a new celebrity edition of Fifteen to One.

The Christmas special of Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror, starring Mad Men’s Jon Hamm, will air on 16 December at 9pm. A festive episode of Greg Davies’ Man Down and the final episode of Derek will also go out next month.

The British Comedy Awards 2014 will transmit on 17 December at 7pm, preceded by the Nomination Show on 9 December at 11.05pm.

As we reported last week, the terrestrial channel will air both The Big Fat Quiz of the Year and The Big Fat Anniversary Quiz, which celebrates ten years of the show hosted by Jimmy Carr.

Carr will also host Christmas editions of 8 Out of 10 Cats and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
