Reece Shearsmith’s animated horror reaches its funding target

Reece Shearsmith’s animated horror about Borley Rectory has reached its Indiegogo funding target of £3000.

A post on the campaign’s Indiegogo page confirmed that the crowdfunding target was reached in just seven days, with new targets of £6000, £12,000 and £25000 to allow producers to make even more of the film as it originally intended to be.

“Due to your PHENOMENAL support – £3000 in 7 days – we’ve unleashed our stretch goals!

“We still have 35 days left to raise the film’s budget, we have perks a plenty and more to come (including a few things I never dreamed we’d get our hands on). Let’s make this film all it was ever meant to be!

“Will we do it? That’s up to you! But with support so far from the likes of Neil Gaiman, the fabulous Soska Twins, Mark Gatiss and now Seraphim Films (more to be revealed soon…), we believe anything is possible!”

Speaking about the film, Shearsmith, who plays Mirror scribe Vernon Wall, said: “The project oozes as much quality as it does evil. Borley Rectory is one of the great ghost stories. I needed to be part of it.”

The film also stars Gothic horror historian Jonathan Rigby, Little Britain actor Steve Furst, and is narrated by A Room With A View’s Julian Sands.
