Vic Reeves lands role in Inspector George Gently

Vic Reeves is to appear in the new series of BBC One drama Inspector George Gently.

Reeves – who is credited under his real name, Jim Moir – will play a shady pawnbroker in an episode of the detective drama set in the late 1960s, due to air in 2015.

Vic has taken a number of acting roles in recent years, including a part in the now axed BBC Two comedy series Hebburn and as Eric Morecambe’s dad, George, in BBC Two film Eric And Ernie.

He is currently filming series two of his BBC Two sitcom, House of Fools, at MediaCityUK in Salford.
