Edinburgh Comedy Award nominees visit Whitby
The twisted and irreverent Gein’s Family Giftshop have been honing their sketch skills on the North West stand-up circuit. Now, after a hit run at the Edinburgh Fringe, they’re about to take Whitby by storm.
The sketch trio were this year’s surprise package at the Fringe, taking home a string of four and five star reviews as they narrowly missed out on the Best Newcomer prize. We absolutely adored their debut show, with our review describing them as “a strong and surprising sketch group, full of belly laughs and hilarious shocks.”
Gein’s will be at the Coliseum Centre in Whitby on Saturday 20 September, joining Carl Hutchinson and compere Kiri Pritchard-McLean. If you live near Whitby, or just passing through, it’s a must-see show and a steal at a fiver a ticket.
The Gein’s Family Giftshop show is part of a huge programme of events organised by Hilarity Bites Comedy Club.
Comedy fans in Darlington, Bishop Auckland, Newton Aycliffe, Yarm and Topcliffe are in for a treat, as Hilarity Bites will be hosting comedy club nights throughout the autumn and into the festive period.
The comedy club will also play host to a number of high-profile tour shows in the coming months, including Vikki Stone’s Intrumental, which comes to Whitby Coliseum and Darlington Forum on 22 and 23 November.
Details for all shows can be found on the Hilarity Bites website.
