‘Little Waster’ tribute on its way to the Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre

Bobby Thompson’s woodbine smoking ‘Little Waster’ alter ego became a folk hero across the North East, yet hid a man troubled by drink, gambling debts and the tax man.

Performed expertly by Pete Peverley, a stage show celebrating his lifeis coming to the Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre in Newcastle on Thursday 30 October.

Using Bobby’s original costumes, The Bobby Thompson Story uses some of Thompson’s own material and follows his life from humble beginnings in a county Durham pit village in 1911 to radio star in the 50s.
