TV BAFTA Awards 2014: the results are in
Last Tango In Halifax, Him And Her, A League Of Their Own and The IT Crowd take home prizes.
The results for the 2014 BAFTAs are in.
Geordie duo Ant and Dec were the night’s first winners as they scooped the Entertainment Programme prize for Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeover.
They also beat Sarah Millican to the Entertainment Performance BAFTA later in the show.
Sky One panel show A League Of Their Own won the Comedy Programme gong as Jamie Redknapp made his first and hopefully only winning speech at the BAFTAs.
While Last Tango In Halifax star Sarah Lancashire beat co-star Nicola Walker to the Supporting Actress prize.
A clearly nervous Lancashire thanked her cast members, friends and family before saying: “I really wish I’d prepared a speech.”
Elsewhere, Channel 4’s Gogglebox scooped the Reality and Constructed Factual award, while BBC Three’s Him and Her: The Wedding won the Situation Comedy prize.
The IT Crowd’s Richard Ayoade and Katherine Parkinson took the male and female comedy performance awards.
While Julie Walters – occasional comedy partner of Victoria Wood and star of Billy Elliott, Harry Potter and Educating Rita – won the Fellowship gong.
The 2014 BAFTAs also paid tribute to Only Fools and Horses star Roger Lloyd-Pack, who died in January after battling pancreatic cancer.
