Plus more on the Family Guy/Simpsons crossover, Jason Manford hosts new sports show, and Russell Brand hugs it out with a cyclist.

CHRIS RAMSEY has landed a role in Frankie Boyle’s new Radio 4 sitcom, Blocked. The comedy, described as “a traditional sitcom with an edge”, also stars David Mitchell as Ramsey’s father-in-law, Watson and Oliver’s Lorna Watson and Poppy Rush. Blocked is being recorded at the BBC Radio Theatre in London on 27 May.

MORE DETAILS have been confirmed for the Family Guy/Simpsons crossover episode due to air stateside in September. The hour-long episode sees the Griffins going on a road trip to Springfield where the two families get on like a house on fire.

JASON MANFORD is to host a Question Of Sport spin-off show for BBC One. A Question Of Sport: Super Saturday features Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell alongside celebrity guests “to play a series of physical games and challenges all with a sporting twist.” The show will be recorded at MediaCity in Salford on 5 June.

ROYLE FAMILY creator Caroline Aherne is battling lung cancer. Aherne has confirmed that she’s undergoing treatment in Manchester, where she recently launched a £3.4million bid to improve cancer care.

Last but not least…

RUSSELL BRAND made the news for the right reasons this week when he diffused a road rage situation by giving a cyclist a great big hug. London 24 reports that, when a bike and a van came close to a collision during rush hour on Thursday in central London, an argument broke out – before Brand got out of his Mercedes to hug it out. What a guy.
