House of Fools gets a second series
House of Fools has been renewed for a second series, Bob Mortimer has confirmed.
Mortimer, who stars in the BBC Two series alongside his long term comedy partner Vic Reeves, announced the commission this morning on Twitter.
The announcement will come as a relief to campaigners who contacted the BBC to request a second series, and protested on Twitter using the hashtag #saveHoF following rumours escalated by Stephen Fry that the show was being axed.
Ratings for the first series, broadcast earlier this year, fell from 1.27m to less than 700,000.
However, the show, which also featured Morgana Robinson, Matt Berry and Dan Skinner, attracted a positive critical reception and a high rating on the Appreciation Index.
It is not yet known when the second series will be broadcast.
