Songruiner: Stephen Frizzle records new live comedy album
Stephen ‘Friz’ Frizzle is to record a new live comedy album.
The musical comedian from Newcastle will record his latest collection of parody songs, Songruiner, at Linskill Community Centre in North Shields on Saturday 22 March.
Songruiner will be Frizzle’s second album after the release of Live In The Wrong Key in 2012.
He told Giggle Beats: “When I first started on the comedy scene in March 2012, [producer] Steven Heslewood approached me to see if I wanted to do a ‘live lounge’ special performance for his show on YRadio.
“The recording was quickly edited into my first album [Live in the Wrong Key]. That’s sold 1,000 copies over the last couple of years, so I thought it was time to get new material out there.
“The new album features all kinds of pastiches – including a jaunty tribute to Les Mis and a ten second song about Nick Clegg.”
Tickets are available to buy online for £5, which includes a copy of the album.
