Latitude 2014: Dara O’Briain announced as first comedy headliner
Dara O’Briain has been announced as the first comedy headliner at Latitude 2014.
Organisers have announced Mock The Week host O’Briain is to perform at the outdoor festival in July, joining the likes of Milton Jones, Al Murray and Tim Key at the top of the bill.
Other names confirmed today include Josh Widdicombe, Trevor Noah, Josie Long, Henning Wehn, Katherine Ryan, Doc Brown and Arthur Smith.
The increasingly fertile field of sketch comedy will certainly be well represented at Latitude, with Luke Kempner’s The Only Way is Downton, Wittank, Pappy’s, Cardinal Burns, Max and Ivan and Pajama Men all heading to the Suffolk site.
And five-piece improv group The Noise Next Door will return to Latitude following a hit run at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe.
Latitude founder Melvin Benn said: “This year sees Latitude return for its ninth edition, with a sensational and diverse bill that once again really offers something for everyone.
“We’re delighted to be able to reveal a whole host of high calibre comedians, theatre companies, poets, writers and other performers across the festival. I’m confident this is going to be the best Latitude yet!”
