An app that creates customised episodes of Alan Partridge’s show Mid-Morning Matters has been released today.

Radio Alan: The Alan Partridge Player inserts pre-recorded segments from Mid-Morning Matters, the show which the television and radio personality presents on North Norfolk Digital, in between songs from a user’s iTunes collection.

The fictional radio show on the equally fictional radio station first appeared as a series of online videos in November 2010 written by Steve Coogan, Neil Gibbons, Rob Gibbons and Armando Iannucci.

These were edited into a series of six half hour episodes that were later broadcast on Sky Atlantic.

The app, available for iOS devices, identifies artists that have been played on Mid-Morning Matters and then inserts a relevant clip of Alan making a reference to the singer or group.

The app coincides with this week’s release of Alpha Papa.

Radio Alan: The Alan Partridge Player was developed by Touch Fantastic in association with Baby Cow Productions and BBC Worldwide.

It is available through iTunes’ App Store for 99p.
