Vic and Bob  have cancelled their upcoming tour, it has been announced.

The first leg of 25 Year of Reeves and Mortimer: The Poignant Moments has been pulled due to Bob Mortimer undergoing major surgery.

Mortimer underwent a triple heart bypass earlier today, and will spend the next several weeks recovering from the op, and will therefore be unable to attend scheduled rehearsals.

While November and December’s will not go ahead, the 2016 leg of the tour is thought to be going ahead as planned.

A spokesperson for Mortimer told The Mirror:“Bob would like to thank his Consultant and all the nursing staff at the hospital for looking after him so well. He now needs several weeks to fully recover, so unfortunately the first leg of the UK tour will be cancelled. Bob very much hopes to be fit and well enough to perform the second leg in January next year.”

The tour, which celebrates Mortimer’s partnership with Vic Reeves over the past two decades, would have been their first live shows in twenty years. It was announced last week that extra dates had been added to the show’s run, which was due to begin in Glasgow next month.

Ticket holders for shows between 8 November – 4 December 2015 can claim a full refund from their point of purchase.
