They’ve got the Horne
Alex Horne is to close this year’s Barnard Castle Comedy Festival.
Horne will present an extended version of his Edinburgh Comedy Award-nominated show, Monsieur Butterfly, at The Witham arts centre on Saturday 18 July 2015.
The show, which also won a Chortle Award back in March, sees Horne attempt to recreate the board game Mousetrap live on stage, with hilarious results.
Festival Director Peter Dixon said: “We couldn’t find a better show than Alex Horne‘s latest to close our first ever comedy festival.
“Not only is he one of the funniest men I’ve ever seen but this show is pure fun.
“It created a massive buzz at last year’s Edinburgh Festival and we were thrilled to bring Alex to Barnard Castle as part of a small UK tour, limited only by the fact that during the year he has been so busy recording lots of new TV shows.”
Horne is the first of six names to be confirmed for the first ever Barnard Castle Comedy Festival.
The festival, organised by Teesdale comedy promoters Funny Way To Be, takes place on Saturday 18 July at The Witham arts centre on Horsemarket.
Shows will run from 12pm until late, with Alex Horne’s show taking place at 8.30pm.
Earlybird day tickets for the festival are on sale now, priced £45. Click for tickets.
